Storm's Tree

Thank you all for stopping by my blog, and Storm's blog last week on her anniversary. It meant a lot to us.

I wanted to let you know that the Meowmies had a lovely day remembering Stormie. Firstly the Meowmies went to the Cambridge Pet Crematorium where Stormie was cremated. Even though Stormie is not buried at the pet crematorium, the Meowmies wanted to go there and visit the Gardens of Rememberance and spend some time thinking of her. They also planted a little silver birch tree in the gardens. amongst an established group of silver birches. We are not sure this is really allowed... but we hope the gardener doesn't rip it out, but finds it and lovingly cares for it.

After the visit to the Gardens, they went on and spent the reast of the day in Cambridge, visiting the market where Meowmie L bought Meowmie J a book about the seashore. Meowmie J was flicking through it and stopped at a page that caught her eye that had a picture of a beautiful beach on it...it was called Storm Beach! How coincidental is that? Maybe Stormie is sending little messages to us from The Bridge...After the market they stopped for somthing to eat and then wandered down to the River Cam and watched the world go by. It was a lovely day. Meowmie L then came home and gave me and Timmy some chicken, in memory of Chicken Face.

Here is the picture of the little silver birch tree for Stormie. Have a good weekend everyone xxx

Hi there,

I noticed from the picture of your lovely little tree that it is just tied in the middle and may be at risk of damage in a strong wind - I would shift one of those ties up a couple of inches and the other one down a bit, just to be on the safe side.

This winter (or the next one, but don't leave it longer than that), I suggest that you snip off all the branches that are currently under the ties in the picture. This will encourage growth that is both sturdy and upright.

There should only ever be one leading stem (that will become the main tree trunk) - if another stem starts competing, cut it out.

I really hope that you get a fantastic tree!

I love the tree and I too hope that the gardens tend it and make it grow big and strong in remembrance of Storm.

How amazing... I too did something special this past Saturday and seeing that I am named to mean "a little sunshine after the storm" in tribute to your lovely sister Stormy and her incredible fight for life, I guess that means it too was kind of a tribute to Stormie! You see I attended my furstest ever purrtiness show and won my open class, 3 purrty ribbons and 4 trophies too. I guess they could see I had a little twinkle of something special about me compared to the other little Aby girls of my colouring and age group - even though I was the youngest there. I bet that was a Stormie twinkle! :)

However as soon as I got home I made my biggest bestest chicken face and had a pile of the good stuff to share with momma Isis, Uncle Ramses and Tigmut'hep! :)

So not only did I do something special I ated loads of chicken that I just know Stormie would have loved! :)

Purrs,
Setra (age 19 weeks)

Planting a tree is a good way to remember Storm. We hope it grows tall and strong, and that you have good memories of her every time you see it.

I'm so sorry I missed darling Stormie's first Rainbow Anniversary. I played her video just now and my eyes leaked all over again (and still are!). BUT, on 13th July 2009 (yes!) I adopted Alfie and Simba, two kitties who were ascairt of their daddies' dogs, so, a bit busy here! But they have settled in really well and have blogged twice!

Sweet memories of darling Storm and much love from Black Cat, Alfie and Simba :) xxx

What a great little silver birch tree. I had one of those at a different home. It will grow nicely to honor Stormie.

Check out my blog about a colony of abandoned/feral cats near my home. There will be stories there as time goes on that could inspire and inform anyone you know who wants to help homeless cats.

Would you add me to your blog list?

Thank you,

So how are you? I am fine!
