My next award has been given to me by...HOLD ON A SECOND...it has NOT been given to ME, it has been given to TIMMY!!! Well, seeing as Timmy seems a bit grumpy at the moment I will graciously advise him that our favourite movie-reviewing cat Tybalt Prince Of Cats has handed him the Blogging Friend Forever Award! Here you go Timmy...(I got this already, and I fink this has done the rounds now...plus Meowmie is pressed for time so Timmy can share my choices of nominees I made a few posts ago).
So...how are Timmy and me getting along then...? Well, Meowmie has mostly been keeping us apart in separate rooms with occasional supervised 'viewing sessions'. She divides her time between the two of us and lets Timmy have exploring sessions a few times day of the whole flat (apartment), whilst I am locked in a room. In the past couple of days Meowmie has let Timmy explore freely, with me not locked up...the hissing has almost disappeared but the growling hasn't, and it is usually Timmy who growls. I am actually quite chilled and just sit by, looking bemused at this new, growling, grumpy cat in my home, as you will see from the following video...
We did get close enough to touch noses yesterday morning without any hissing or growling, but then Timmy hissed and we had a little bicker (no contact though). This morning during his exploring time and after some inital growling and grumbling, Timmy settled down on his laurels in the doorway to the lounge, and stared at me, whilst I settled down on my laurels across the room and stared back - we did not hiss or growl for quite some time. This is the first time that Timmy has settled down outside of his room since he has been here.
Meowmie is a little worried though that Timmy doesn't like our home; he does not seem as happy as he was at the Rescue place, and he growls and grumbles at Meowmie now sometimes, he wasn't doing this a few days ago. We have to hope that this is temporary and Timmy is being like this cos he is feeling unconfident, unsettled and possibly depressed too. I am being a good cat and not attacking him or anything...and the Meowmies are giving Timmy the love and respect (and treats!) he needs...so we remain hopeful, he is so adorable when he is chilled out and wants a belly rub...apparently!
Have a good weekend everyone xxx

ConCATs on yall's awards. We hope Timmy gets more comfy soon because yall have the best Meowmies.
congratulations on these awardies. You deserve them Castlepants.
Castle looks like he will be okay... situations such as this do take time. I am sure he is unsettled. You look soo soo so sweet looking on. I wish I could hug you Castlekins. Timmy seems like such a sweet fella.
purrrs and love always <3
We just love his Timmy Tantrum name! We hope that time will ease the unsettled nervousness and that you will become best buddies soon!
I'm sure Timmy is just adjusting. I was miserable to my Lap Lady for the first week because she STOLE me from my breeder.
Kaze
Castle, that is wonderful you are getting closer. We meezers often hate to be uprooted anywhere. I hated my new home for several weeks (everything about it) and hated everything and everyone and hardly came out of hiding. I really didn't warm up to the Woman for a good six months, which she found very unusual. One person at Meezer.com said that Siamese are very loyal and take time to warm up and get used to things. We do not like change at all!
Concatulations on the awards!!!!!
I growled at Meowm for quite awhile after she brought me home. tell your Meowmie not to be to worried about Timmy growling, or the possible depression....I think he just needs some more time to adjust.
Junior
Oh, it's the "siren growl"! I think Timmy seems more anxious than aggressive, and he should be fine with just some time.
Castle, you are a very good Mancat to be so calm and friendly.
Timmy was warning you not to try to get his food!
You are being so kind to him, Castle - I'm sure it won't take too long for Timmy to realize he has a fine home!
It sounds like things are going pretty well, though it's got to be tough. It's good of you to be so nice Castle!
We agree that Timmy is probably just adjusting to the change, and will settle in soon. We wouldn't be too worried about the growling right now. Tavi still does that when something changes, and he has started to swat at Mama when he is upset which he never used to do. She just looks at it as Meezer catitude.

Castle, you are the nicest guy! I think it is very sweet of you to give Timmy the time he needs to adjust!
Congratulations on your awards. Timmy just needs a little time to adjust to the major changes in his life. I'm sure he'll seem happier after he gets used to his new surroundings.
Wow Castle your voice really woke me up here. I hope in time and soon that you and Timmy can be furiends.
Concats to both of you on your awards. We were impressed with you just sitting there in the video Castle - that was very polite of you. It's still got to be a bit scary for Timmy after losing his person and his home, but we think he'll get used to you and your home in time.

ps - we took a dare we would like you to see.
Oh we're very impressed that Timmy is starting to settle in with you Castle! :) One of the little "tricks" My Mummy used to help me feel more at home here faster was a Feliway diffuser, she still uses Feliway spray on new kitten carriers and other things she brings into the house that otherwise might be seen as a scratching post. It's pretty amazing stuff it's like the scent of "home" in a bottle! :)
Purrs,
Ramses et al
I agwee with Ramses. That fellway stuff is magic ! I hope Timmy is settling in a bit more now. Poor baby. Its a lot of adjusting for a not so young cat to make.
Oh Castle, Timmy sure can hold a note!!!!!!!! heeheehee
The face that you two can sit in the same room with no hissing is a sign that the ice is melting! It will still take time, but Timmie will become more confident in time. He needs to feel that this is his home too,and you are not a threat!! I could tell him you are cool, but he needs to see for himself ;)
Purrs Mickey
I think you're being very laid-back and patient Castle, but it does seem that Timmy is starting to settle. I suspect he may have been an only cat in his previous home and in view of his age had probably been with his bean for a long time. Early days yet, I'm sure he'll be fine:) xxx
Congrats on the awards!
Glad Timmy and Castle are slowing getting acquainted. It's harder for an older cat to adjust to a new home, so we hope he will adjust soon.
Yes, we're staying.
It sounds like you're doing everything right, Castle. Eventually you & Timmy will get along just fine.
Oh, by the way, congratz to both of you on you awards!
