Thumpin' Thursday

My new 'friend' Timmy and I have had a couple of fights in the past few days...this morning's fight was particularly 'involved' shall we say. I started this morning's fight. Meowmie was very worried and was going to split us apart during the fight, but then she though it best to let us work through whatever it was we needed to work out between ourselves.

It went like this...Timmy was in the wicker cave and I decided to whap Timmy whilst he sat in there - I had him trapped in the wicker cave and was repeatedly lunging at him and biting him. Timmy then burst forth and pinned me down and bit me...I struggled free, leaving some of my fur in Timmy's mouth, and then we did the side-ways ballet dance and mewled around each other for a while before both attacking each other again a few more times. Timmy then skulked off.

After the fight Meowmie decided to put Timmy in the other room on his own for 10 minutes to try and get things to calm again. Then 20 minutes later (and aided by a few Temptations) we were both settled on the sofa together...we remained like this until Meowmie went off to work. We give the impression that we are closely bonded don't we? Oh, how the camera lies!

Despite our fighting and bad behaviours we have been given an Award by Mr Hendrix! It is the Briliante Weblog Award 2008! I have been given this before so I will graciously give this to my 'fiend' (no, that is not a typo) Timmy. Thank you Mr Hendrix so much for this. I suspect Timmy says thank you too, but he is so rude and ungrateful sometimes that i daren't even let him on here to express anything - he might just swear at you or something - he is quite unpredictable!!!

I will pass this award on to all the Cat Bloggers who haven't yet got it and whose names begins with....'S'. Sorry to be so random but Meowmie is at work and doesn't have time to help me properly pass this on, and we think this has been doing the rounds in our absence (again, not my choice, but Meowmie's, she is always 'busy').

We hope you are all OK and keeping well!

Hang in there, Castle. You're being very patient with Timmy. We're purring and purraying that things settle down soon and Timmy relaxes.

That is actually rather good news really. Timmy is respecting that you are #1 cat in the house. Obviously you're snuggling and stuff to so its very encouraging.

I am glad you are starting to get things sorted out with the two of you. Who knows? one of these days you two might get on famously!

I still think it is a good sign that you can be that close together. I am getting along well with Harley, but I think it is for two reasons:
1. He allowed me to be the head cat and has not even hissed at me once.
2. He lived for many months at the shelter and learned lots of good cat skills.
If I get nervous and hiss at him, he just backs up about a foot and lays down until I relax.

Sounds a bit like Orion and I. Sometimes, if the merows are kinda quiet, Meowm lets us paw it out....and other times, if hte merows are noisy, she breaks us up. She has faith that we will be okay though...and we have faith that Timmy and you will settle into a nice peaceful co-existence.

We think you're doing really well so far. It always takes time and you each have to figure out your place in the relationship. Carry On!

Fighting over a particular spot happens even here where we live. It's usually me demanding the spot! ;-)

These things just take time, I think.

a few tussles are good sort of, as long as there are some coming together ... and Temptations afterward.

I have been purrring for all of you

As long as no one is being injured, I think it's best to let them work it out and not interfere. It also gives you an opportunity to watch and see how bad or not it gets, since they are alone together most of the day.

We agree, as long as there is no blood, sometimes it is best to work it out. Mom usually breaks us up because Tavi tends to be a bit of a bully lately.

Congratulations on your award.

Yes, sometimes we just have to work things out between ourselves. Are you two trying to work out who's alpha cat?

At least you can get close to one another. That has never happened here. We just stay out of each other's way and keep the peace.

Progress can be slow at first, but at a certain point there will be breakthroughs every day. Just hang in there. It will get better.

I'm sure that once you and Timmy have worked out your differences a little more, that you'll both settle in nicely together and start being friends rather than fiends to each other! ;) Honestly if Tigmut'hep can admit that Isis isn't yucky and horrid (which he's done of late), then you're sure to find that Timmy will settle! :)

I think your Meowmie was right to let you fight it out. It seems to me that, in a funny sort of way, this is progress coz you are both now facing the issues between you. I hope you will become friends:) xxx
